vitamin supplements for vegetarians?

I have recently become vegetarian and in need of some vitamin supplements (such as iron) what should I be taking in place of the vitamins im missing? and how much of each?
thankyou.

Unless you have been tested – you don't really know what and if you need them.

If you believe that your missing something in your diet vitamin wise – best to go to a doctor to find out what it is that you need vs. just making a guess. They will be able to tell you how much you need to take as well.

There is no need to spend all sorts of money on something that you very well might not need – or you will become aware of something that you need and properly address that problem in your diet – which just might be able to be solved by making a few dietary changes.

In general, what kind of diet and exercise will help me improve my health?

You should really consult your doctor before going on an exercise and diet program…because there are just so many!
Just some tips from someone who is trying a healthier lifestyle: It's important to cut out the junk food and most importantly—sugar! Sugar = carbs = fat. Take the time to read food labels. Remember, there are good carbs (like veggies and fruits) and bad carbs (processed breads, sugar, etc)
If you eat a well balanced diet and cut out the junk, exercise 3-4 x a week (aerobic activity AND weight training) then you'll definitely be doing something great for your body. Keep it up and don't get discouraged if you don't see results right away…it takes time!
If you need further help, you could consult a personal trainer or buy an exercise/diet book (which I did and I found "The Good Carb Cookbook" to be very helpful. It's not only a cookbook but it gives you alot of tips on the latest research in healthy eating.

I have 2 acne treatments (Proactiv Refining Mask & another drying gel) that have sulfur as the main ingredient. They smell horrible, but they really work well! I was wondering what it actually does? Does it clear the pores or does it kill the acne bacteria? No big emergency, just wondering! Thanks!

it kills the bacteria by drying it up

What do you eat after weight loss surgery?

I'm considering weight loss surgery. What does one eat after a surgery? Could I just follow the same diet (without the surgery) and get the same results?

If you are considering the surgery, why are you asking if you can get the same results following the same diet? Surgery is the last option for those who are seriously overweight, and ALL other methods have failed. It sounds like you want to try and change your diet, which is good. If you have not tried diet and exercise, then you should. This surgery is dangerous, and full of risks.
Spend the time exercising and eating healthy food. It took a long time for you to put on the weight, so it is going to take a long time to take it off. Just be patient and you will be rewarded for your efforts.
They give you very strict instructions about what you can, and cannot eat after surgery. For instance, you cannot drink and eat at the same time. You cannot eat anything that contains huge amounts of sugar, or fat. At first you are limited to a liquid diet, then you are allowed things like jello, or other soft foods.
You must also consider the consequences of having this type of surgery done, not just short term, but think long term, in the future. The majority of people who have this surgery do have some sort of complications, and they do gain a lot of the weight back. If you have not addressed the emotional aspect of why you overeat, this is probably not the best option for you.
Weigh your options carefully, and make a VERY educated decision. Speak with many people who have had this done. Ask them all kinds of ?'s. I know many people who have had this done, and sure it gives you the results you want very quickly, but for what they have gone through, it isn't close to being worth it. Good luck.
